SPOLANA s.r.o. (hereinafter Spolana) was founded on 1
May 1992 through transformation from a state enterprise. Since June 2016,
Spolana has been a part of the Unipetrol Group, which belongs to the PKN Orlen
Group. From 2006 to 2016, Spolana was part of the Polish company Zakłady
Azotowe ANWIL SA (since 15 January 2010 this company has borne the commercial
name ANWIL Spółka Akcyjna), which also belongs to the PKN Orlen Group.
The company’s registered office is in Neratovice, at a
production facility with an area of 260 hectares located 25 km north of Prague
on the Elbe River. The company currently employs more than 700 people.
Spolana is focussed primarily on the export of its products, with more than 80%
of its production being exported. The company strives to market most of its
products in European Union countries with the lowest possible logistics costs.
The Spolana production plant is the only manufacturer of PVC (sold under
the brand name Neralit®) and caprolactam in the Czech Republic. It
also produces sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, oleum and sulphuric acid, as
well as industrial fertiliser, which is a by-product of caprolactam production
and contains nitrogen in ammonium form and sulphur in the form of sulphate ion.
It also contains a small dose of ammonium nitrate, the concentration of which
does not exceed 1.5%. Used for direct fertilisation. The fertiliser is
